January 2016

2016 is here. The year our kiddos will be 2,4 and 6. Time really does fly. January got off to such a great start for us! On New Year's Day we flew with Carter and took a special trip to visit some friends in Virginia Beach that opened a restaurant. We left around 3am on New Year's Day which was so crazy, because we had stayed up till midnight on NYE. Carter was so excited at the airport he stayed awake on both plane rides, and then crashed as soon as we got in the car when Megan picked us up. Carter told us so many times "That was such a great flight. Thank you for taking me. I cannot believe I was on a real airplane." It was so cute to see his excitement. He would wake up and say "I can't believe I get to go on ANOTHER airplane ride." Since we had to take an airplane to get home. We asked him his favorite part of the trip when we were coming home and he said, "Just getting to hang out with you two." *melts* It was such a special and fun trip to be able to do that with him. We got to eat and Mike and Megan's restaurant a few times and that was so fun to see their store in action! That first night Megan cooked an incredible Italian meal for us. She is an amazing cook and it was so delicious. Carter and their two kiddos, Brooksy and Carmen, got along and played so well together. That was a lot of fun to see. Saturday, Bret went to work with Mike and we went to the aquarium there. Then, later that day down to the beach and to eat at a fun restaurant on the water. Saturday night we just hung out and played scattegories and laughed a lot. Sunday morning we went to a fun park called Mt. Trashmore and ate a diners, drive-ins and dives restaurant and then headed back to the airport. Carter did so great the whole weekend and the the little two had such a fun day at Amy's and then with my mom on Saturday and Sunday.

We drove back home on Monday and the kiddos started back up to school on Tuesday. I think we were all glad to get back into the routine after lots of traveling over the break. The next week I went to Houston to see my sister's new baby and to get LASIK surgery. My sweet mother in law came in that week to help Bret with the boys. I took Rylie with me to Houston and had my surgery on Wednesday. Then went down to Friendswood to meet baby Ellie on Thursday. Friday, I met up with my friends Erin and Nat for a fun time of hanging out and catching up with them. Then, Saturday I headed back home. It was such a fun filled week, but I was so glad to get back to my family on Saturday.

The next week was BIRTHDAY week for our little two. MLK day was on Monday, so all the kiddos were out of school, so we took Rylie to the Austin zoo for the day. They all loved the animals and getting to feed the animals and also ride the train. Then we went to Kerbey Lane for lunch and then headed home. It was a perfect and fun day for a two year old who we are so crazy about. The next day was her actual birthday so we took her on a breakfast date with Bret and I since the boys were in school. My mom sent some fun cake pops to her, and then when Carter got home from school we opened her gifts and did balloons. She got some new bath toys, which is what we have done for all our kids when they turn two :)

Tuck right now is ALL into whatever Carter wants. When you ask him something, he says "Well, What did Carter pick, or what does Carter want?" It is sweet and at the same time I wish he would just pick what he wants. So Carter wanted an Avenger cake, so he got an Avenger cake for his birthday. I wasn't gonna do anything but take Tuck on our normal family day, but we wanted to share his cake with friends, so Wednesday I texted some of his friends and we had about five of his closest friends meet us at CFA for Cake and nuggets. It was perfect. The kiddos had a blast and it was so easy and fun for everyone. Sunday on his actual birthday, we took him for birthday donuts, then off to church and then after naps we went to bowl, and play glow in the dark putt putt. Tuck jumped up and down the whole time the ball would roll down the lane. It was so cute. Him and Carter were trying to roll the heaviest balls down the lane they could. Rylie, of course was obsessed with the shoes. Putt-Putt was a hit too. He would say "I got it in the hole" over and over when he would hit the golf ball. The kids zoomed through those things and then since he wanted to go to Grandpa's restaurant for dinner, we had to settle for an Italian restaurant in town. They loved Bassano's and we had never been there as a family and they loved the spaghetti and bread and all. Tuck got some new superhero costumes that him and C have been dressing up in for their birthday. So that has been so fun to see that.

Today is the last day in January and we ended with a bang. Church and two birthday parties back to back. Needless to say our boys crashed hard on the way home. It was 80 degrees today the last day in January. So that was a perfect end to the month for me. Sure am loving this warm winter we are having.

Friday night I surprised Bret with a dinner and mall date, to get some new shoes and sunglasses. My mom came in and surprised the kids and they had so much fun with her playing outside and going to CFA and getting to stay up late. Bret and I got to try Eddie V's, which was a really great restaurant.

Yesterday he took off and we just spent the day together, going to look at a new house and taking a bike ride to the park, then last night Kelsey watched the kiddos for us because we had a banquet to go to. A fun filled weekend.

Rylie right now is so into her new baby she got from Amy for her birthday. She is always putting it night night and saying "shhh shhh" and wrapping it in her blanket. It is so very cute. She also LOVES to be naked and undresses at home and out in public. Like the other day at the CFA playground, or today she kept saying "I want to take my shirt off mommy". It is.constant. The other night Bret opened the front door and she was in our room watching a show and without even seeing Bret she said, "Hey daddy, I am watching super why." It is crazy how much she is talking. Rylie loves to play in her kitchen and while she is cooking on the stove, say, "Its hot mommy, ok?" "I want food" is her favorite phrase or "I want to watch blaze or super why"or can I have my "fi" or "Paci" or "baba"

Tuck and Rylie both yell when ANY team is playing on TV "Go aggies" It has been fun to see their little relationship take off, Rylie will always say"don't touch my butt, ok Tuck" HA. She is always putting "ok" at the end of things.

A few weeks ago Carter and Bret had a movie night and he told Bret, "I want Rylie to stay little forever like the little girl in Monsters Inc bc she is so cute." Then the other day I was trying to fix something and Carter said "thanks for trying anyways mommy". He has such a kind heart in that boy.
