I am terrible terrible blogger, but I have so many things I do not want to forget that have happened lately so I am going to continue to update this when I have time. Currently it is on a Sunday when the little two are napping and Bret took Carter on a date to see the new Planes movie:) such a fun time for Carter with daddy today.
July was filled was SO much fun and so many things going on. We had lots going on getting ready for the Opening of our Chick-fil-A on July 24th, but in between we had some July 4th fun out at the James house in Columbus. Followed the next weekend by our friends Mike and Megan and their two kids coming into town to play, and then the next weekend my mom and sisters all came to Austin so we could all go wedding dress shopping for Angie's wedding October 25th! My mom also came in the last weekend in June and we had a great fun weekend with her. I love our house being flooded with people and being able to host everyone. It may be my new love language is having enough room to have people to stay here. Being settled has been so incredibly nice.
In July we also potty trained Tucker. I will not lie and admit I was pretty terrified to potty train that child. He just poops ALOT- but let me tell you that little boy blew us away. He was amazing and potty training has also fixed his going #2 a ton problem. He also just like Carter doesn't need pull ups at night. I have been so incredibly blessed that when our kids are done with diapers they are done with all of it. I am so incredibly grateful for that. Tucker is hilarious with going potty. He is kinda obsessed with the toilet. He also gives animated run downs while he is going like a countdown till he goes, or he will say "It's coming out" or "I can't push it out of my bottom mommy" or "I did it mommy". Oh he is something funny. He is also still eating everything in sight and it is going beyond just normal food now. He has eaten dog food the past month, swallowed and digested a rubber chicken head, and yesterday he came home from a birthday party and drank the bubbles in his goody bag. I mean I don't even know what to say to that. He will also finish and try any of Rylie's baby food and will take and drink her whole bottle if I just leave it out. He calls her bibs life jackets which I think is pretty cute and his swimsuits are his swim swoops :) Yesterday we were at my dad's ranch and after we rode gators, and tractors, and horses he said "this is so fun mommy" and "this is gonna be a great day". He is such an adorably fun kid who also keeps me on my toes every.second of every.day. Still our cuddle bug and he asked me after church today to "rock him and put him in the baby crib" so so sweet. He loves to go up to daddy's Chick-a-lay everyday and always wants to ride in the car. He loves to go places just like big brother. He is also a mini Carter and repeats and does everything Carter does and says. It is pretty sweet to watch. Tucker will walk around singing "I love you Lord" around the house and I sure do love hearing that and "miss me when I'm gone" all the time. He loves to go shoot baskets and still loving the lawnmower these days. Oh and Tucker also told me this month "mommy feed Rylie with your belly":) Lastly, Tucker when he has something or doesn't know what to say where he got it from he says "it is from Christmas" because he has heard Carter talk about that so much. It is super cute. Love that two year old boy.
Carter man had a big week this week getting into his new school here in town! He is SO excited to go to pre school this year Tue/Thur from 9-2. We have been on the wait list for awhile and finally heard back this week. He is going to have so much fun there and we already love his teacher and are so excited for him to be in her class this year. Carter has been so incredibly fun and sweet lately I can't handle it. He has been such a big helper to me and when I talk to him about obeying and we will be out somewhere he will look at me while we are there and give me this adorable side smile and big thumbs up. It melts my heart. I try to give him some special one on one time a few times a week while the little ones are napping. Recently he wanted to make chocolate cake balls and he calls them chocolate "meatballs". I thought that was so sweet and cute. Carter is very much our routine boy with eating and liking the same schedule of things everyday. He is also very adventurous. The other day he wasn't calming down and so I sent him to his room and he came down and told me he was singing to Jesus to help calm his crazy because He has the power. :) Ha. He def. has SO much energy, but him and Tucker get that out daily with bike rides, playing in the garage or sliding a million times over in our little pool slide in the backyard.
Last week we went to New Braunfels with my family and had a blast. Carter and Tucker both had so much fun at the river in the rapids and Carter went down with just his life jacket on and both the boys went down so many slides at Schlitterbahn. Carter even got to go on a few of a big slides, and both the boys LOVED the wave pool! It was such a great fun week with my family. We really missed Bret, but hopefully next year he can come since we won't be opening a new store. Rylie loved the water so much too and was amazing the whole week as well.
Rylie has been crawling every.where and she is into everything which is kinda fun because she is so happy now that she can move so well. She also started sitting up this week which is so fun and she has her first two bottom teeth! She is just as sweet (and little) as can be. She loves to make dinosaur noises and scream to talk to you. She is so ticklish and she adores her brothers even though they are so insane around her and even though they are insane they really do adore and love her so much. She loves to cuddle up with her blanket in her crib and loves to bath and bedtime with the boys now too. She also loves to play outside with the boys and crawl all over the garage with them. I sure do love having these three kiddos.
The constant question we had gotten this month and lately is "When is daddy Chick a lay opening?" Finally we could say is was REALLY opening! It was hard for Bret and I to believe it was really happening too!! The opening week was such a blast. We started off the week playing ultimate frisbee with the trainers on Sunday night at the park, then had the dedication dinner on Monday night which was really great and Bret did an amazing job there with our team, then Tuesday was such a FUN night at the premiere night, and Wednesday we had over 200 people show up for our first 100 PLUS Troy came in to surprise Bret which meant so much to him! Then Thursday morning at 6am we finally opened for business!!! Our opening weekend was a HUGE success and so many people came out for it including our amazing family and friends who drove hours to come be there for the big weekend. Bret's mom and my sister helped me all week so I could be up there for all the events which was so much fun to be apart of it all. It still now even weeks later feels very surreal, but we sure do love it. We love getting to love on our team and meet the people of the town and serve them. We are so very thankful to be where we are. Can't wait to see what keeps coming in the months to come!
