3 months

Well, I started to sit down to write this blog today and realized three months just blew by and I didn't even realize it. Today is May 1st. It has been such a whirlwind of a few months. We have been house hunting like crazy. We found our house though in Houston and sold our house here! God is taking care of all the details and I am SO thankful!

At the beginning of February, we celebrated TEN years of marriage :) Zac and Amelia watched our kiddos so that we could go out and celebrate that evening. We always love talking about what God has done that past year and where he is taking us into year 11, which we know another adventure awaits moving again and opening another store in Houston.

The boys finished up basketball season and loved every minute of it. We went to seminar in Dallas and had an amazing time getting to see friends and spoiled rotten by CFA. My mom stayed with the kids while we were gone and she took to the skating rink and out to dinner, and they had so much fun with her. Bentley continue to fit in well with our family and just have so much with him. Little did we know that in March he would be leaving and our hearts would be broken. Thankfully he is with his brother now and he is doing well, so I am thankful for that.

Rylie and Bret had their daddy/daughter date night (Rylie calls it her daddy/daughter dance out) and they had the best time. Rylie danced away with her friend Kinsley and they all went out after to get ice cream together. So very sweet. She was beaming from ear to ear to get to go with Bret to that.

The weather this spring has been amazing so we have played at the "skate park" with scooters and rollerblades and rode the golf cart to the park millions of times. Carter had his music performance the week before his 7TH birthday. He wanted to be an octopus and he had so much fun in his costume!

Carter wanted a mad science party for his birthday and he loved every minute of it. They got to do fun experiments like make slime and at the end do a rocket launch. He picked chili's to go out to dinner to that evening and got some new shoes and a football from us for his birthday. At his seventh year well check he was 46 lbs and 46 inches tall. He was in the 24th weight and 16th percentile for height.

Over spring break we went to busted oak ranch in Carmine, Tx with my sisters and my dad. It was cooler and rainy the whole weekend, but we still had a fun time. The kids rode four wheelers and horses, and played all around the house till they couldn't see straight anymore. Then we headed to Houston to go and look at some houses and stay at Sheri and Dave's house. The kiddos all got new haircuts and swam in the hot tub at Sheri and Dave's house. Rylie was obsessed with Caley's pink room at their house. It was her dream come true for a room.

After spring break we told the kiddos we were moving to Houston and they were so excited to get to be near family and cousins.

Bret and I celebrated 34 years of life in March and got to go on a day date to a golf tourney in Austin and spend the day together. Our sweet friend Kelli watched the kids for us and when our kids sang to us instead of "cha cha cha" they said "eat more chicken" in between. Ha. Those kids are funny.

At the end of March, Bret's mom graciously watched our kids for us for a week, so that we could go to Mexico with Jordan and Kristen for our birthdays. It was the most relaxing and fun trip we have had yet to date. I am so thankful for wonderful grandparents, so we can get breaks from time to time.

Easter was in April this year and so we headed to Houston to celebrate with my family. On Good Friday before we left I tried a new activity with the kids this year. We talked about what Jesus went through on that day and took two pieces of wood and talked about our sins and nailed them to the cross. It was a really cool activity to really give the kids a visual of the significance of Easter. I know they may not fully understand, but we always want them to know Easter is more than just the candy. The kids over Easter weekend swam and swam and swam. They had so much fun, Rylie even took a nap. That never happens anymore, but she came and fell asleep on Bret one day. Tuck also had a fun egg hunt at his school with his friends. The kiddos have been really into kinex lately and building those, as well as playing golf and basketball outside with daddy.

Last Friday I got to go with Carter man on his field trip to the thinkery. I am so grateful to be able to go on things like that with him. Yesterday we saw my mom ride in her 15th MS150 and it was so fun to be able to watch her ride again this year.

Some fun stories from the past few months is Bret was talking to Carter about getting baptized and how someone close to you does that and Carter told Bret, Well I want Tucker to baptize me. They really do love each other so much. Tuck said he wanted to sleep in the guest room last night and Carter said, "Well, who is going to sleep with me?" And then this morning Tuck came in and said I am done sleeping in the guest room. I love how much they love to be together.

Bret and I went to our friends Jessica and Marc's wedding a few weeks ago and while we were gone, Tuck was playing basketball outside with our friends Kyle and Sarah and when Kyle couldn't do something Tuck said so matter of fact, "Well, my dad can do that. He's 34." That kid.

I took Tuck on a special date night a few months ago and the whole time we were out he would sing in the car "Its my special day. Its my special day" And when we went bowling he was so excited and went straight to the counter and said "size 12 please" Like he knew exactly what we were doing. Then after we left he was singing, "bowling, bowling, we are going bowling. Playing ske ball and bowling and get some ice cream." so Fun how excited he gets over every.little thing

Rylie on the other hand is so special with her whip and ne ne song. She says "get up on my hip. get up on my ne ne. She is our one who wakes up in the morning and talks nonstop. She always says things that are way too big for her. 3 going on 16. She is fierce and she knows she is the only girl.
