So we bought a house.....and it has kinda consumed us over the past few months! It has made life a little crazy, but we are loving how it all turned out!
May we cleaned out the new house, and got it all gutted out to paint the whole house, put in new flooring and counter tops. So, that was exciting. May we finished up all the things with our CG. We had such a great and incredible time with those families this year. We are looking forward to next year as well. We got to all volunteer together at the pregnancy crisis center and that was a fun evening all together.
I took the boys to the Mother/son date night at CFA again this year. I always love all the questions they put on the table for the boys. It is such a fun conversation starter and getting to hear their fun answers. Then, after they hang out with me for 15 minutes or so, they bolt for the playground together:) Which most mom's are there just hanging out by themselves. Our marketing director got married this month and that was a fun wedding to go to. Our friend Erin watched the kiddos, and they had such good food and we got to see lots of people at the wedding.
At the beginning of May, we got the boys some much needed haircuts and then went to an operators friends house for Mother's Day to celebrate their little one. It was a fun day hanging out with some really great people. I always love how kids can pick up and hang out with one another so easily without not knowing each other very well.
My sister needed some help watching Ellie in May, so we went to Houston to see her. Carter got to stay here with Bret, since he had school and they had a great time together. Not sure if Carter wanted us to come back because he loved having daddy all to himself. Tuck also thoroughly enjoyed the time with my dad by himself, and Rylie and Ellie had such a great time playing together. My sister really does have the best and easiest baby ever. She was so incredibly sweet and laid back. I loved getting to help with her that week. We got to see Jenn and her girls and go swimming with them in Friendswood too. That was a lot of fun. It was a great week for all of us.
When we got back, it was Tuck's last week of school and he needed an Earth for his end of the year performance. So my awesome friend Amelia, and Bret and I made Tuck a Earth out of paper mache and I will have to say all our long and late night hours were not in vain. He was def the cutest and best looking Earth around. Tuck also got the award for the patience to teach others, which made me smile so big because that is so Bret. I love seeing that come out in Tuck too. He was the most adorable Earth I have ever seen.
The next weekend our friends the Beakley's came in to do the tough mudder with us. Our kids had a blast with their kiddos. We had so much fun doing the tough mudder, that we signed up for next year already. I was over 11 miles and 25 obstacles and it was just a blast doing that together. We couldn't walk for the next few days, but it was a great time with friends old and new.

Carter man also had his last day of school at the end of May. He had such a great year. He was reading at the end of a first grade level at the end of Kinder. He loved his teacher so very much and he racked up all the awards for music, art, reading, principal's award and handwriting at his end of the year awards. He loves school so much and can't wait for 1st grade. I am so excited for him next year.
The day after school got out, we packed up and headed out for our second annual beach trip with our friends the Clardy's. We got a house right on the beach this year and it worked out so well. There was a huge rain percentage when we were going and it ended up being perfect and awesome for the kids. We had such a good time again this year. The kids dug and made sand castles, (along with the dads who made some legit sand castles with the shovels they bought), we had dinners at the house, played int the pool and the ocean and made so many fun new memories. The kids loved every minute of it.
The next day after we got home, we packed back up and headed to Bret's parents new house in Gainesville. They built their dream home and it was amazing! Bret's brother Troy and his family was there too. The girls all got to go to the Wizard of Oz the first night we were there. I loved that. Then, the next day we went out to the lake with Aunt Pat. The lake was too high to get the boat out, but we still got to do golf cart rides and play in the small pool, the park and cook out there for dinner. It was a really fun day for everyone. The last full day we were there, the whole family came over for pizza. Their new back deck is so perfect and peaceful, the toys for the kids were so fun, and their new swing they really loved too. It was so great to see Troy and Holly and McCoy because we hadn't seen them in a year since they had been in Africa. So, I am so grateful for the time we got to spend with them. We headed back Friday morning to Bastrop after another great trip!
The next week, my sister needed help with Titus, and we went to go see our friends the Coldwell's and my mom in Houston. It was a really fun week of swimming, playing and just enjoying summer. I had thrown a shower for my two best friends here in town that weekend, and so that was so fun getting to shower them with love and gifts. They are due any day now and I cannot wait to meet their littles ones!
Father's Day was that coming Sunday and I love watching the kids as they get older making cards for Bret. Carter drew a card of all of us playing basketball, and wrote the sweetest words to Bret about being the best daddy in the whole wide world. They also made him play doh structures and his big give from all of us was a brand new TV! First one we have bought in our marriage. We had a fun day together going to Pappasito's and going to pick out his new tv. He really is the best dad. He love our kids so well, plays with them so incredibly much, and teaches them so patient and lovingly. They all even wore hats to match daddy on Father's Day.
The next week was moving week! It also happened to be the week all three of my kids were going to VBS. The went to the Rosanky Baptist Church VBS and had such a great time! They all had good friends there, which made it all the more fun and they learned so many stories about Zaccheus or the woman at the well. I loved hearing them singing all their submerged songs and stories they learned and how much fun they were having! While they were playing away at VBS, I packed up my whole house that week and moved all that I could over to the new house. I was able to pretty much get everything, but all the big things over before we moved that Sunday. Then our amazing friends and CG helped us move everything that Sunday in a few hours. They unpacked our kitchen, set up our beds, organized toys upstairs, moved our playground over. TRULY.AMAZING. We have the greatest friends who showed up big time to help us this week.
My mom had also come at the beginning of that week because we were doing our foster/adopt classes. She brought the kids fun toys and they had a blast hanging out with her. Carter, while swimming at the Wilkinson's house that week lost his front teeth eating a piece of pizza!! Crazy. He has been a swimming machine this summer, going under the pool forever and doing flips off of everything. He never ceases to amaze me. Rylie and Tuck still have floaties on, but they have been so brave in trying things this summer and swimming like champs too. It has been such a fun summer with the kids in the pool this year.
Amy and her kids stayed the next week after we moved to help unpack and all. That was so helpful and we were able to knock so much more out that week with her help. The kids also had a lot of fun swimming and playing together all week long. Grateful they were able to come and help out.
For the fourth of July, we invited Lisa and Amelia's families over and we grilled out, ate watermelon, homemade ice cream, and did some sparklers with the kids and snappers and then watched the fireworks. It was a fun and relaxing fourth of July with friends. The next day we ended up going to Houston to see my dad for a few days. We met my sister at the beach, then swam and played at my dad's for the next few days and came home on Friday.
This past week we had our friend Kelley over, went to Catheryn and Cooper's birthday parties, had cow appreciation day, went to the aquarium with our friend Bella, got to go swim and play out at camp Tejas and now this week the boys are with my mom at Great Wolf Lodge. It has been a packed filled and super fun summer, but we are loving every minute of it.
I am loving this week with Rylie and getting to paint her nails(which she loves) and the one on one time with her. We have spent a lot of time with Lisa and Amelia walking and trying to get babies out, but it has been really fun and relaxing too. Grateful for the one on one time with her this week and that God gave us a little girl :) She constantly wears her swimsuit, or is naked still all the time and she makes us laugh and smile often. She is now in her big girl bed all the time and she loves that and is growing up way too fast. time slow down please. Carter and Tuck have enjoyed getting to be buddy buddy this summer again. They fight and play well every other minute, but I do love that when Tuck is upset Carter will go get him want he wants or give him something of his. Or Carter will always let Tuck And Rylie go first before himself always. It is cool to see God already working on his heart. And Tuck prayed out loud for the first time the other day. He is still the sweetest boy ever coming to cuddle up with us all the time. I am so grateful for the good, hard and every piece of time with these gifts of amazing kids God has given us.
This summer is FLYING by. Next week we have our family trip to New Braunfels. Then, we are going to take a small trip to Florida, just Bret and I while the boys go to see Bret's mom and Rylie goes to see my sister. Then just a few weeks till school starts. We are loving the new house and so are the kids. Excited to see what the next chapter looks like for us with this summer coming to an end.
As Bret was packing for camp last night I was reminded of where Rylie gets all her "girly"ness from. He took such a long time to pack for camp, even trying things on before he left. Rylie plays with her dolls constantly and loves wearing high heels and doing her nails and watching me put on make up. She also told me yesterday she likes barbies. She is so so girly. It is pretty cute, but she gets it mostly from Bret and his love to dress nicely and dress up. So, I have already decided to let this one go and let daddy take her shopping until she graduates. They will have fun with that.
