April

Daddy and Rylie girl
Tomorrow is May 1st. Which means one month until SUMMER!!! Yay. I am really looking forward to this summer and school finishing up so I can have some fun with my kiddos! This month flew by since I was gone 10 days this month in Kenya, but Bret was SUPER AMAZING rock star dad like always, so I am so grateful to him running our store and managing the kids and all their stuff while I was gone. I know they  had so much fun, it seemed to be filled with lots of dance parties, and hanging out with Grams and Pops and soccer games and practices, and some birthday parties in between. April 1st was also Easter Sunday this year, so that was a fun day at church and then we hung out with my sister that evening and had dinner with them. We celebrated my dad's birthday earlier in the month, so that was so fun to get to go down to his house and see him. We took him to dinner that night as well. My kids love my dad so much, so that was fun.

Before I left for Kenya, I got to go on Tucker's field trip with him to a ranch out in Magnolia. That was a super fun day. Him and his friends loved the barrels where they spun like mice on a track around and around in circles. While I was gone, the boys had field day, and Bret had a great time going to that with Tucker and getting to run around with the Kinder kids and see Carter and his best buddy Luke. This past week was meeting up with our new CPS worker for Roland. She is wonderful, so I am so grateful for her and meeting up and then Kristy our casa worker came by as well. This past weekend was crazy with the kids school carnival on Friday night, then Carter's soccer on Saturday, then we went to see the play Hamilton and then Sunday Bret and his dad and the boys went to the Astros game! So a very full and fun weekend! Looking forward to this next month and all we have going on with the end of the year!

Both our big boys busted their heads open this month. That was fun. Thankfully it was just minor. Carter is still playing soccer and loving that. The other ones have been into playing basketball in the backyard, and wall ball and riding scooters around and of course pop a shot. They love the greatest showman soundtrack right now, so that is fun.

March

I always look forward to March every year, not just because its a lot of peoples birthday that I love, but march madness, and spring break and warmer weather is finally coming! This past March was no exception. Our oldest turned 8. We had a fun spring break. Bret and I turned 35 and I also ran a half marathon!

Carter wanted to go with his friends to a Shankz, which is a mini indoor putt putt place. So his friend Luke and two of the Cott boys came with us this weekend. We had such a great time and then went to CFA for dinner after and then let the boys come back here and play for a little while after. Carter wanted some new beyblades for his birthday and new socks and we got him a rockets jersey. We had a great day celebrating him. I am so thankful for his sweet self. He has gotten so into sports and wants to know everything there is about sports and all. I love that so much. He loved playing basketball this year and is still playing soccer and wants to try baseball this summer. He is so sweet and kind. My mom took him out for his birthday and they went to toys r us and then she took him to get a special treat and got him a cake, and then we met them for dinner at kona grill. Such a fun day celebrating our oldest.

Just a few days later was spring break and we planned to go see our old house in NB the day our kids got out of school that Friday. We had a family sleepover in the house and that was so fun. The kids all slept in sleeping bags and they loved that. We met our friends the Krawiec's for dinner and then Saturday morning while Bret was working on stuff we went to a new park in NB and the kids played on playground and then of course ended up in the splash pad. That afternoon we went to see our friends Marc and Jess and Anne Marie and then headed to our friends the Clardy's that night to see Zac and Amelia and their kids. That was such a fun evening playing and hanging out with them. It was such a great start to spring break week. We went to church Sunday and then went to my soccer game that afternoon. Monday we hung out with our friends the Beakley's and walked to the park. We love getting to see those sweet kids and then that Monday afternoon and evening was when we had Carter's birthday celebration with his sweet friends. Tuesday we met our friends the Epper's at the park and then headed out to the Parker's house in New Waverley to see them. I always love getting to see Steph and her kids. It was such a fun day seeing their animals and catching up with them. Wednesday morning I met my dad in Katy and he took the big boys to his ranch for the night while the little two and I met up with friends from church at the park. That night we went out to dinner bc 2/4 kids feels like nothing! Thursday we went down to Friendswood to see Angie and hang out with Ellie and Bradly and then we met my dad and the boys at his restaurant to pick them up. They had such a great time shooting guns, driving tractors and playing with all of grandpa's toys. We left my dad's restaurant and met my friend Erin and her daughter Kinley at the park that afternoon by where they live in the heights. It is always so good to see her and I wish we lived closer to them. Saturday we hung out with our friends the Coldwell's and then we just relaxed that last weekend before school started back up on Monday. I love the age our kids are at, and how fun they are and how much we all love playing together and hanging out.

These last few weeks we celebrated our 35th year of life. Bret got me a pop a shot game that was so much fun for all of us to play. I got him some new golf clothes to wear when he plays. My sweet sister watched the kids for us so we could go out for our birthday. Our foster son, Roland had court last week and that was what we thought it would be. Both parents came and that was great because that was the first time they came. So we wait again for another three months until end of June.

Overall, all is great. I cannot believe it is already April. Next month our kids get out of school and that is crazy! I am heading to Africa next week for 10 days so I am so excited about that! So grateful for another month of life. What an incredible life we have here. Such a gift. So much to be grateful for.
