Well, this month flew by. Big news this month was that we potty trained Rylie. WAHOOOO. We are a diaper free household for the first time in 6 years! So that is really really exciting! Rylie was so sweet when she was potty training. When we would tell her good job, she would say "Thank you SO much Mommy/Daddy." The boys would get so excited for her as well when she would go on the potty. She would tell us thank you so much for my panties too. She was pretty excited about it all. She would share her prizes with Tuck and Carter too :). One of the funniest things now that she says is "silly goose Carter" or "silly goose Kenrik"- She is always calling people silly gooses. It is so fun and it makes me smile really big when she does it. Her and Tuck have been napping together lately and it is so very sweet. They just want to lay next one another.
The first weekend in April we went to Houston because Bret got me final four tickets for my birthday!!!! That was the best gift ever. I loved being at the game and getting to watch the final four. It was amazing. The kiddos got to spend the day with my dad and Rylie stayed with my sister, then we came home the next day.
The next week Amy and I had our annual birthday trip for a few days, so Grams and Pops came and helped Bret with the kiddos. We had such a great time in Florida. It was such a fun trip, and seemed to be that the kiddos had a great time with grandparents and wore them all out!
Right when I got back, I got to go with Carter to his school field trip to Jersey Barnyard. I love getting to do stuff like that with him. He got to milk a cow, and take a hayride, feed some more animals and get some ice cream at the end. It was a fun day with him. I cannot believe his first year of Kinder is almost over! Crazy how fast time goes by!
We are in the long process of trying to buy a house, so hopefully we will close soon, and move sometime this summer! We were supposed to close a week ago, but some stuff wasn't right, so hopefully soon here we can get that ball rolling and get that done!
My kids always ask where I used to teach, so Carter had a holiday one Monday and so I took the kids to my old school in San Antonio. That was a blast to see so many people I used to work with, and show my kids around the school. They had so much fun. I loved seeing my old principal and she let the kids hang out in her office and play with toys in there while we got to catch up. It was so fun being there and seeing my old stomping ground. Things have changed a lot and lots of new teachers, but I was so glad to know a handful still.
Last weekend, my Aunt Kathy was having a surprise party in Houston, so we went down to see her for that. It was also Amy's birthday, so we came down Friday to see her and help watch her kiddos so her and Scott can go on a date. It is so fun for all our kiddos playing together whether its basketball, or wrestling or toy hide and go seek, they had such a good time all weekend. My uncle had just put in his new pool, so my kids were loving that and getting to swim in his new pool at my Aunt's party. Sunday we did some fun birthday stuff with Amy and her family, then headed home to spend the day with Bret. Our kids slept almost the whole way home. The sign of a super fun weekend.
The next week I was able to go to New Braunfels with Bret to talk with the Timothy Team about working for us. It was so fun to go to camp just for a little while, and get to see so many fun faces and people we def miss seeing. I wish it could of been longer.
The next day was when I decided to start potty training Rylie, so I have pretty much been on lock down with her for a week or so. Amy and three of her kids came in town, because Scott and Kaelynn were heading to their campout, so we went to CFA with them, swam and hung out all weekend while Bret was doing end of the month.
Carter this past weekend had been wanting to buy a field day shirt from school, but only had three dollars in his spend bag. So he did chores ALL weekend helping us to earn the five more he needed to get his shirt. I love how he learned to work for every dollar. I helped him mow the lawn and he came and thanked me so sweetly for helping him knock that out with him. Bret has always been good about telling the kids to thank me for dinner and the other night, they were just all so thankful and saying how much they loved me and I was the most awesomest mom in the whole world. In the midst of so many crazy days, it sure is nice to hear those words because these ages sure can wear you down. Carter is constantly writing sweet notes by our bedside tables and all. Tuck is doing so great at school and really growing up right before our eyes. Rylie, well she is still 2. And she knows she is really really cute.
