The past month

After the kiddos birthday I had to have my first surgery to remove a cyst under my chin. Really no need for details except for the fact that we are so loved by so many. Bret was super dad for a week almost. I really don't know how he survived and we could not have made it without my mom and Bret's mom coming to help as well. ALONG with other sweet friends who filled the in between, brought meals, or just called to text and sweet how we were. No need for the details of any of the surgery other than it was a long week and I am much better. My mom stayed with the kiddos while we were at the hospital and they did great. We came home to cards and plates and banners of fun stuff from the kids. Looks like they had a lot of fun with Itsy:) My favorite was all my kids reactions. Carter was always so serious and would come in and be so sweet and just lay next to me. Bret would always leave me something in there to watch if I needed and he learned real quickly if he came and laid by me I would just let him pick his show as long as he cuddled up with me. Smart kid:) He was just always saying "Mommy, I hope your neck feels better." Almost everyday these past few weeks he would just keep saying how he hopes my neck feels better, and even today almost three weeks later telling me how much better it looks and how happy it makes him that I am feeling better. Pretty sure I looked rough for a solid week. Tuck, my sweet intense Tuck, would always walk into my room happily and say "Feeling good Mommy??" Without fail. Every.time. I loved it because it was just so him. He still didn't really get he couldn't jump all around me or on me, but he tried in his sweet three year old kind of way. Rylie was just sad she couldn't come in there with me. Bret or my mom would bring her in a few times and she would just lay on my chest. I weaned her the morning of my surgery, so I was extra missing her those few days, but she did so great with Bret and it made the transition easier I think in the end. So grateful to be back up and running full speed with my kiddos and so grateful for the community of people and family around us to help us get there.

These past few weeks we have had birthday parties, made trips to New Braunfels to see my friend Anna, another trip to Houston to see Amy and her kiddos, and then Bret and I just got back from Seminar a few days ago. So these past few weeks have felt fast and furious. I started up a women's bible study with about ten women from the community on Wednesday nights and have absolutely loved doing that. We are going through the book of Ephesians and it has been so encouraging and so good for me. Also fun for Bret to have a night with the kiddos. We have had lots of events going on at the store such as Pajama Jam and Daddy/Daughter date night which have made for a fun few weeks as well with such a great turnout. Those kind of things make us love what we do all the more. Carter was pretty upset we didn't have a daddy/son date night and so he will be pumped that next month we are having a SUPERHERO night. He may die of excitement. Those boys and their superheroes. The weather has been warmer this winter so we have had lots of fun park days lately and have really enjoyed that. Two weeks from today we are throwing the boys a birthday party here at home, so hoping the weather cooperates for that. If not, we have a good indoor option:)

Rylie has been cutting all four molars and I think I finally see the end in sight. She also may be within a month out from walking. We will see if she presses on this month. She loves loves loves to read books right now. She also still eats anything and everything in sight, along with putting anything and everything in sight food or not in her mouth. So that is always fun. Her striped blanket is her favorite more than anything else. She also knows she is the baby. When C or T are sitting in my lap, she immediately comes over and pushes them out or pulls their hair to get them out. yeah, so that is fun. She loves showing you where her tongues, mouth, hair and belly are. Always happiest being outside, or up on the counters or places she shouldn't be. She loves dogs and that is one of her new favorite words. She always wants to look at dogs. She climbs on the end tables of the couch just like Carter and is obsessed with the bathtub like Carter too. At her one year check up she weighed just over 17 pounds, so she is still in the tiny and probably always will be tiny category.

The boys are still inseparable these days. Their new thing with Bret is to say "mommy, daddy, Rylie....or whoever name in the family and then pause and yell "Pete the Cat." Then they all bust out laughing. It is their thing and totally ok with me. They love to find new stuffed animals these days and sleep with them at night. Carter is currently on a new dog with a blanket, while T is into his elephant and lion. Those two love to play puppy and owner along with family nonstop. Whatever C is doing, T you can almost bet is doing as well. It is really sweet. The other day R was napping and T told me he wanted to go to school with Carter and only with Carter. He just adores him. The sleep and nap together everyday and night and when Carter doesn't want to nap, now Tuck doesn't either. I love how much they love each other.
